You don’t need to go to great lengths to enter the hair industry, simply enroll in to The Sunshine Coast Academy of Hairdressing. Our course provides a standard entry-level qualification for the hairdressing industrHairdressing CertIIIy. We’ll teach you the skills and knowledge required to work as a hairdresser.

In the hairdressing course You’ll learn how to: apply salon safety procedures, cut, style, colour, straighten and permanently wave hair; design and apply classic long hair up styles; provide service to clients; work effectively in a retail environment; perform shampoo and basin services; maintain and organise tools, equipment and work areas; and communicate within the workplace.

You’ll also have the opportunity for hands on experience in a salon (Vocational Placement).

Packaging Rules

28 units must be completed:

• 21 core units

• 7 elective units consisting of:

  • all 3 units from Group A or all 3 units from Group B
  • 4 units from Group C.

Assessment Information

Assessment is undertaken throughout the course, both in practical and theory exercises. Assessment is competency based and requires the completion of all units
