Certificate III in Barbering (SHB30516)

(Domestic students)

You don’t need to go to great lengths to enter the hair industry, simply enroll in to The Sunshine Coast Academy of Hairdressing. Our course provides a standard entry-level qualification for the barbering industry. We’ll teach you the skills and knowledge required to work as a Barber. 

In the Barbering course you will learn clipper techniques, create haircuts using tracks and carving, shave heads and faces, design beard and moustaches, male grooming services, and colour and lighten. (Long hair techniques, perming, straightening, are not in this course)

You’ll also have the opportunity for hands on experience in a salon/barbers (Vocational Placement).

• 21 core units

• 5 elective units comprised of:

5 units from the training package (SHB30516)

Assessment Information

Assessment is undertaken throughout both courses, both in practical and theory exercises. Assessment is competency based and requires the completion of all units
